
GRASS VALLEY, Calif September 7, 2016 – The 4th annual Spaghetti Feed fundraiser for the Fire Safe Council of Nevada County will be held on September 12th, 2016 from 4-7pm at Humpty Dumpty Kitchen in Grass Valley. The event will commemorate the 28th anniversary of the local catastrophic 49’er Fire which destroyed 312 structures and scorched over 33,000 acres in western Nevada County.
The local volunteer based non-profit organization is dedicated to making the community safer from catastrophic wildfire through fire prevention education, fire break clearing projects and creating Firewise Communities.
A large aerial map depicting the 49’er Fire boundaries will be on display along with handouts of personal accounts from those who fought the blaze or were affected.
Dinner will include spaghetti with meat or vegetarian sauce, salad, bread and drink for $10. Tickets are available by phoning (530) 272-1122 or at the door the evening of the event at 1711 East Main Street, Grass Valley.
