The 2020 Census data has been published, showing a 3.5% growth for Nevada County from 98,764 to 102,241 in total population. The California Department of Finance’s Demographic Research Unit processed the Census files and published a series of data sets showing changes from 2010 to 2020.

The Town of Truckee remains the largest incorporated municipality in Nevada County, with 16,729 residents – an increase of 549 (3.4%) over 2010.

Grass Valley grew by 1,156 residents to 14,016 – a 9% increase. In the past ten years, Grass Valley annexed several areas into the city limits accounting for the majority of the growth.

Nevada City totaled a population of 3,152 in 2020, adding 84 residents or 2.7%.
