Kicking off the 4th of July morning, the Greater Grass Valley Chamber and Grass Valley Downtown Association are partnering with Twin Cities Church to present the second annual Family Pancake Breakfast on Mill Street. Join us in downtown Grass Valley from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. for yummy pancakes and children’s games, then pop over and join the fun in Nevada City!

It’s Nevada City’s turn to hold the 4th of July Parade, and the colorful event begins at 10 a.m. with vendors and live music featuring the Nevada County Concert Band. The parade takes place on Broad Street at 11 a.m. This year, in celebration of his pending retirement in August after serving for 50 years as a Nevada City Engineer, Bill Falconi is honored as the 2022 Grand Marshal.

Festivities continue after the parade until 1:30 p.m. with a special performance by the Ophir Prison Band! The street fair will be held on North Pine Street and will feature food, craft, and retail vendors.

The day doesn’t end at 1:30 p.m! Grass Valley will just be gearing up for their whoop-it-up musical evening event from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Mill Street! Rockin’ Hot Music and Ice-Cold Beer, wine, and sparkling drinks will keep you cool while you dance to the music of Cousin Cricket at one end of Mill and Rewind, Press Play at the other! So come on down, and enjoy the food, music, and evening merriment on Mill!

And what about the fireworks? Once again, supported by community sponsors, the City of Grass Valley will organize the pyro spectacular extravaganza that will light up the skies, shot from the Dorsey Interchange at around 9:30 p.m.
