NEVADA CITY, Calif. December 1, 2016 – Nevada County’s premier juried craft fair returns to the Miners Foundry Cultural Center, Sunday, December 11, from 10am-6pm. Just in time for those searching for one-of-a-kind gifts for the holidays, the 6th Annual Nevada City Winter Craft Fair showcases over seventy of the local region’s top Etsy vendors, artisans, designers, do-it-yourself crafters, and features their handcrafted, original and repurposed art, clothing, accessories, jewelry, and housewares, along with an assortment of vintage goods.

New to this year is an array of craft demos such as live painting, leather working, beading, woodcarving and metal painting. Live music also returns to the festival with music from indie folk artist Sunday Iris early in the day and Morgan Cochneuer of Skiffle Symphony on fiddle and banjo later in the day.

“This year’s fair has branched out into other craft and makers communities in Northern California,” says the festival’s producer Naomi Cabral. “We have crafters joining us from as far as Oakland and Sacramento, but we still have a strong presence from Nevada County.”

Some of this year’s local crafters include Outlaw Soaps, Eleri Design, Cabrina Channing Silverworks, Thomboy Bags, Green Mosaics, Ursula Young Art, Neva Co, Cult of Gemini, and Nevada City Scenics. Nevada City Craft Fair favorites such as Kiya’s Naturals, Eko Kreations, Pickle Pottery, and Cosmic Soaper will also return.

Emily’s Catering and Cakes will offer a holiday inspired menu of delicious lunch options, plus cupcakes, tarts, macaroons, and other treats, and edible gifts. A no-host full bar serving seasonal favorites will also be available.

The first Nevada City Craft Festival was produced the summer of 2010 by a group of local young crafters, artists and social do-gooders who were inspired by the independent entrepreneurship and creative talents in their community as well as the success of the Renegade Craft Fairs across the US and Europe. The bi-annual event continues to grow and to date has introduced over 10,000 attendees to more than 600 local and regional artists, designers and crafters.
