The Center for the Arts and Lyric Rose Theater company are pleased to present Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the Marisa Funk Theater on March 28th, 29th, and 30th.  

This cutting-edge, hilarious, and intriguing production will take audiences on an adventure that they will never forget. As four young lovers are faced with the prospect of an unhappy marriage, or worse, they flee the court of Athens and stumble into an enchanted forest where the real and fairy worlds collide. 

This production is directed by David Endacott-Hicks, starring: Jed Dixon, Sara McKinnon, Calum Grant, Judy Merrick, Carey McCray, Tina Marie Kelley, Joel Sauter, Molly Wingerd, Marion Jeffrey, Trish Adair, Robert Peterson, Stephanie Raczkowski, Hilary Hodge, Dakota Lynch, Angela Williams, Amber Busse, Andrea Short, and Laura Colombel.

A Midsummer Nights Dream at the Center for the Arts

Thanks to a grant from Arts Midwest, many of the actors will be visiting local schools and teaching about Shakespeare and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Teachers will be provided with study guides and have the opportunity for one of the characters in the play to come to life in their classroom.

The Center for the Arts is also grateful to the support of The City of Grass Valley who is graciously sponsoring a student matinee for area school children on March 27th. The production will be followed with post show Q&A.

Since 2000, The Center for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization, has grown into a leading presenter of music, dance, theater, comedy, literary and visual art, and family programming, offering more than 150 events per year from its location in downtown Grass Valley. The Center recently completed a major renovation of its multiuse, 21,000-square-foot facility in downtown Grass Valley, making it a premier performing arts destination.
