GRASS VALLEY, Caif. September 6, 2019 – The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Nevada County Branch kicks off our 2019-2020 year with a brunch on Saturday, September 21st, 9:30 am-noon at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 West Main, Grass Valley.

This annual kick-off meeting is free and open to anyone interested in learning more about AAUW. On display will be information about the branch’s interest group and scholarship programs giving attendees a snapshot view of the organization’s more than 80 years of service to our community.

Attendees will have opportunities to experience the energy and warmth of AAUW members while viewing displays on special activity groups for avid book readers, hikers, “foodies,” gardeners, world affairs students, arts and crafters, and more. Plus, they will get the latest info regarding the 2nd annual Tapas & Trivia fundraising event to be held on November 9th. Also on the agenda: a chance to meet and hear from the 2019 8th grade Tech Trekkers just back from the weeklong science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) camp sponsored by AAUW at UC Davis.

AAUW membership is open to individuals with an associate, baccalaureate or higher degree from a qualified educational institution. The Nevada County Branch offers “Friends of AAUW” membership for individuals interested in participating in branch interest groups and other activities, but who have not had the opportunity to complete a degree.
