April 6, 2021 – Dry weather expected this week. Temperatures will warm to a little above average.

Discussion

Other than some high clouds arcing into NorCal from the west, skies are clear across the region early this morning. Current temperatures are considerably cooler in the mountain valleys early this morning (in the 20s, around 15-20 degrees lower compared to Monday morning), but are about the same elsewhere.

Dry and mild weather is expected across interior NorCal this week. Highs will be around 5-10 degrees above average, mainly in the mid 70s to around 80 in the Central Valley.

Lows will be close to average. Occasional high clouds can be expected as high level moisture lifts northeast around the closed low near 30N/145W.

Extended discussion (Saturday through Tuesday)

Models maintain enough upper ridging over NorCal to keep the weather dry through the extended forecast period.

High temperatures expected to be around 10 to 15 degrees above normal Saturday through Tuesday with upper 70s to lower 80s in the Central Valley with mainly 50s to 70s for the mountains and foothills. Locally gusty north to east wind possible at times.
