May 3, 2017 – Fire units responded for a reported vehicle accident on Highway 20 about a 1\4 mile west of Brighton Street.

At scene, units found a 30′ travel trailer on its side and resting on top of a passenger vehicle. Crews found two occupants trapped, one trapped inside the travel trailer and one trapped in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

Crews had both patients extricated in 15 minutes. There were three patients with one being flown to Roseville by air ambulance and two transported to SNMH with minor injuries.

Both lanes of highway 20 were blocked approximately two hours.

CHP is investigating the accident.

Grass Valley Fire Battalion 1,Engines 1,2 and 89 were assisted by CHP, Medic 3 and 4. All fire units were released at 6 pm
