ALPINE MEADOWS, CA – On January 26th – 28th, non-profit Achieve Tahoe will be hosting a three-day snowsports camp for veterans with disabilities. In collaboration with Semper Fi and America’s Fund, the camp will provide a group of veterans living with disabilities the opportunity to build health, confidence, and independence through individual snowsports instruction.
“Since our founding in 1967 we have proudly served those who have served our country and sacrificed so much. Our community is eager to share this opportunity to provide freedom on the mountain,” said Haakon Lang-Ree, Executive Director of Achieve Tahoe. “We are also proud to showcase our world-class Tahoe resorts – Palisades Tahoe and Northstar California – to veterans from across the country.”

“This is going to be our second post Covid camp since the pandemic started, and we’re just really excited to get eyes on our service members, and have them out and exploring three great mountains, especially with all the snow recently,” said Jon Lujan, Sports Program Manager at Semper Fi & America’s Fund.
On January 26th, the veterans will begin their snowsports instruction at Northstar California. On January 27th they will continue their progress at Palisades Tahoe (Alpine Meadows Location), and on January 28th they will conclude their snowsports experience at Palisades Tahoe (Olympic Valley Location). Each snowsports lesson will be adapted to each veteran’s unique abilities and goals, inviting them to experience the therapeutic benefit of outdoor recreation and the joy of sliding on snow.
