October 14, 2016 – I am pleased to announce the appointment of Keri Klein as Public Defender for Nevada County. Prior to being made the Interim Public Defender in February of this year, Keri was the Assistant Public Defender for Nevada County.
She joined the office in 2007, after spending several years as a deputy public defender in Yolo County. Before entering the field of indigent defense, Keri had a private criminal defense practice in San Francisco. She received her law degree from Golden Gate University, School of Law and her undergraduate degree in Law and Society from UC Irvine’s School of Social Ecology.
Outside of her employment, Keri is a member of the Board of Governors for California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and a co-leader of local Girl Scout Troop 134. Keri likes to spend time with her family boating at the river and is an avid knitter.
