PLACER/NEVADA COUNTIES – Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane closures in multiple locations along State Route 49 (SR 49) and State Route 20 (SR 20) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.

Here is the breakdown for the week:

SR 20 Projects:

  • Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Sun Ridge Court and Bowman Lake Road, various one-way traffic control is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, August 10 through Thursday, August 13. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 7 a.m. Friday, August 14.
  • Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project 
  • At the junction with Interstate 80 (I-80), various one-way traffic control is scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, August 9 through 6 p.m. Saturday, August 15.
  • The SR 20 on-ramp to westbound I-80 remains closed until further notice due to bridge construction activities. Motorists will detour along eastbound I-80 to the Eagle Lakes exit and return westbound on I-80.

SR 49 Projects:

  • Maintenance Crack Seal Operation southbound between Empire Street and McKnight Way, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11.
  • Corridor Improvement Project between McKnight Way and La Barr Meadows/Allison Ranch Road, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, August 9 to 6 a.m. Monday, August 10 and from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, August 10 through Thursday, August 13. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, August 14.

Sidewalk Gap Closure Project southbound between Edgewood Road and Nevada Street, various lane closures are scheduled from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, August 10 through Friday, August 14.

The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of the work and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
