May 22, 2017 – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be holding an Open House to present information for a project that proposes to improve safety along state Route 174 in Nevada County from Maple Way to Your Bet Road.  the project would include realigning curves, widening shoulders, adding a left-turn lane at Greenhorn Access Road and improving the Clear Recovery Zone (CRZ) on State Route 174 from post mile 2.7 to post mile 4.6 in Nevada County.

This project proposed to help reduce the number and severity of collisions within this segment of State Route 174.  This project is scheduled to go to construction during the summer of 2019.

The Open House will be held on May 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Chicago Park Elementary School located at 15725 Mt. Olive Road, Grass Valley, CA.

The Open House will allow area residents, local officials, Caltrans staff and other interested persons to exchange information about the proposed project.  The public will be able to view project maps and plans that have incorporated changes resulting from submitted public comments.  Information about the project’s schedule, as well as right of way acquisition will be available.  The public is invited to drop by anytime during the open house.
