ALTA, CAlif. January 10, 2018 – Caltrans is inviting community residents and other interested parties to an Open House to be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 10 at the Alta Community Center located at 33950 Bonnynook Road (behind the Alta Volunteer Fire Protection Station). Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about a Caltrans project to rehabilitate or replace 7 bridges located at six locations along Interstate 80 in Placer and Nevada Counties.

The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate or replace the deficient structural components at each of the seven bridges, including replacing several bridges with wider structures. Construction is anticipated to start in 2021.

Caltrans is soliciting comment on the project’s draft environmental document which is available for review until January 26, 2018 on the District 3 website at: http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist3/departments/envinternet/placerco.htm, at the Colfax or Grass Valley Public Libraries or at the Caltrans District Office in Marysville.

Caltrans environmental, project and design staff will be available at the Open House to discuss project plans and alternatives as well as answer questions. The community is invited to drop in anytime during the event.
