LONG-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 49 (Placer County) from the I-80/SR 49 interchange to Dry Creek Road: Construction began June 17, 2019 on a $40.5 million project in Auburn. The project will rehabilitate existing pavement and drainage, improve operational features and upgrade pedestrian and bicycle facilities.

State Route 49 (Placer County) from Nevada Street to Education Street: Motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday for electrical work.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from the I-80/SR-174 westbound on-ramp to Canyon Way: A $1.8 million Acceleration Lane project in Colfax will create a standard-length westbound acceleration and merge lane to increase the safety and operation of Interstate 80.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from the I-80/SR-174 westbound on-ramp to Canyon Way: Westbound motorists can expect intermittent lane, shoulder and on-ramp closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for drainage work and pavement striping.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) at the I-80/SR-174 westbound on-ramp: Westbound motorists may expect a full ramp closure from 5 p.m. Tuesday to 3 a.m. Wednesday for guardrail work.
Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Farad to Acid Flat Bridge: A $12.9 million Farad Ditch Slope Stabilization project will restore the Farad Ditch by extending the collection area. Construction will also include regrading of the slope by means of roadway excavation, rock excavation, and controlled blasting.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Lowell Hill Road to Zeibright Road: Motorists may expect intermittent, reversing one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday for a crack seal operation.
State Route 20 (Placer County) from Zeibright Road to Lane Spaulding Road: Motorists may expect intermittent, reversing one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Tuesday for guardrail work.
State Route 49 (Placer/El Dorado Counties) from Borland Street/Lincoln Way to the State Route 193 junction: Motorists may expect intermittent, reversing one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for guardrail repair.
State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Streeter Road to Wolf Road/Combie Road: Motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday for electrical work.
State Route 49 (Nevada County) at Tadpole Creek Road: Northbound motorists can expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 6 p.m. to noon Monday through Thursday for electrical work.
State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Downieville to Yuba Pass Road: Motorists can expect intermittent, reversing one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 6:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday for a crack seal operation.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Rollins Lake Road to the State Route 174 junction: Westbound motorists may expect a full highway closure from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Friday for paving work. Westbound detours will be in place at the Interstate 80/State Route 20 junction for commercial and passenger vehicles, and at Secret Town Road for local traffic.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Secret Town to Alta: Eastbound motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Tuesday for a crack seal operation.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from the Caltrans Whitmore Maintenance Yard to Baxter: Westbound motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday for tree work.
Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at the Donner Summit Rest Areas: Motorists may expect alternating rest area closures from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday for grinding work.
State Route 89 (Nevada County) from Prosser Hill Road to Sagehen Creek: Motorists may expect intermittent, reversing one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for a crack seal operation.
