LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 49 (Placer County) from the Interstate 80/State Route 49 interchange to Dry Creek Road: Construction began June 17, 2019 on a $42.4 million project in Auburn. The project will rehabilitate existing pavement and drainage, improve operational features and upgrade pedestrian and bicycle facilities.

August 15 – August 21

State Route 49 (Placer County) from the Interstate 80 separation Dry Creek Road: Motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday morning for shoulder and electrical work.

State Route 49 (Sierra County) between the Rocky Rest Campground and Goodyears Bar and near Ladies Canyon: A $12.3 million project is permanently repairing the damaged river embankment at four locations along the Yuba River with the construction of sidehill viaducts. Motorists may expect around the clock intermittent, one-way automated traffic control and shoulder closures for construction activities.

State Route 65/Interstate 80 Interchange (Placer County): A $1.44 million project is replacing the current asphalt concrete overlaying the connector ramps with a rubberized, open grade hot-mix asphalt that is designed to reduce noise generated from the heavy interstate traffic.

August 16 – August 20

The southbound SR-65 connector ramp to eastbound I-80 may be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday for grinding, guardrail and striping work.

The eastbound I-80 connector ramp to northbound SR-65 may be closed nighty between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday, and Wednesday through Friday for grinding and striping work.

The westbound I-80 connector to northbound SR-65 may be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday, and Wednesday through Friday for grinding and striping work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at the Interstate 80 westbound on-ramp at Atlantic Street: A $12 million on-ramp widening project, in cooperation with the City of Roseville Public Works Department, is expanding the width of the existing Atlantic Street/Eureka Road/Interstate 80 westbound on‐ramp to include three lanes and replacing the existing Miner’s Ravine Bridge to support the newly widened roadway. The project will reduce significant traffic queuing and improve the operations of local streets and intersections. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled this week.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Douglas Boulevard to Yuba Gap: A $3.9 million project is upgrading Metal Beam Guard Rail at various locations to Midwest Guardrail Systems to meet current standards.

August 15 – August 20

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Douglas Boulevard to Yuba Gap: Motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning for guardrail work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Crystal Springs to Cisco Grove: A $57 million project will replace four Interstate 80 bridge overcrossings in Placer County: Crystal Springs, Baxter, Drum Forebay and Cisco Grove. All overcrossings are being widened to include 8-foot shoulders, a 6-foot sidewalk and will include ramps that comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

August 15 – August 21

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Crystal Springs: The Crystal Springs overcrossing will be closed around the clock through December for bridge reconstruction. Eastbound motorists may also expect a full closure of I-80 at Crystal Springs from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Tuesday morning for bridge work. Motorists will be detoured off the highway at the off-ramps and back on via on-ramps.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Drum Forebay: The Drum Forebay overcrossing will be closed around the clock through December for bridge reconstruction.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Crystal Springs to Blue Canyon: Motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder reductions around the clock for bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Cisco Grove: Motorists may expect around the clock one-way traffic control on the overcrossing. Eastbound motorists may also expect a full closure of I-80 at Cisco Grove from 8 p.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday for bridge work. Motorists will be detoured off the highway at the off-ramps and back on via on-ramps.

Interstate 80 (Nevada/Placer Counties) from Castle Peak to the Nevada state line: A $2.4 million project is addressing deteriorated interstate on- and off-ramps at various locations in Nevada and Placer counties. Ramps throughout the region may be closed intermittently for paving, joint sealing, striping and concrete curing time.

August 15 – August 20

I-80 westbound on-ramp at Castle Peak/Boreal Ridge: The on-ramp is scheduled to be closed from 9 p.m. Sunday, August 15 through 12:01 p.m. Friday, August 20.

I-80 eastbound on-ramp at Hirschdale Road: The on-ramp is scheduled to be closed from 6 p.m. Monday, August 16 through 12:01 p.m. Friday, August 20.

I-80/SR-267 eastbound off-ramp: The #2 (right) lane and shoulder are scheduled to be closed from 11 p.m. Sunday, August 15 through 6 a.m. Friday, August 20.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Farad to the Acid Flat Bridge: A $7 million Acid Flat rockfall project and a $2.5 million Farad rockfall project are installing draped mesh on the westbound slopes to prevent erosion and materials from falling onto the highway below. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled this week.

State Route 174 (Nevada County) from Maple Way to You Bet Road: A $27.1 million safety improvement project will realign several curves, widen shoulders, add a southbound left turn pocket at Greenhorn Access Road and improve the clear recovery zone, allowing errant vehicles to regain control.

State Route 174 (Nevada County) from Greenhorn Access Road to You Bet Road: Motorists may expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Saturday for roadway widening and paving work. 

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Ponderosa Way to the State Route 174 separation: Motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) at Mill Street: Motorists may expect intermittent lane, shoulder and ramp closures from 6 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday for electrical work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) at Idaho Maryland Road: Eastbound motorists may expect full ramp closures from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Thursday through Saturday morning for electrical work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Dorsey Drive to Gold Flat Road: Motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work. Motorists may also expect lane closures at Dorsey Drive from 8 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday, and full nightly eastbound ramp closures at Gold Flat Road from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Wednesday through Friday morning for electrical work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Sun Ridge Court to Los Altos Lane: Motorists may expect one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday for guardrail repair.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) at the Interstate 80/State Route 20 junction: Eastbound motorists may expect lane and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday for utility work.

State Route 49 (Placer County) from the Robie Point Firebreak Trail to Almond Street: Motorists may expect one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday for drainage work.

State Route 49 (Placer County) from Fresh Air Lane to Florence Lane/Lorenson Road: Motorists may expect intermittent right shoulder closures from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday for drainage work.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) at Lady Jane Road: Southbound motorists may expect lane and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday for utility work.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) at Empire Street: Motorists may expect full ramp closures from 7 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday morning, and lane and shoulder closures from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday morning for electrical work.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) from the Hoyt Crossing Trailhead to Reader Ranch Road: Motorists may expect intermittent one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday for drainage cleaning.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Oak Tree Road to Moonshine Road: Motorists may expect intermittent one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for drainage cleaning.

State Route 65 (Placer County) from the southbound SR-65 connector to westbound I-80: Motorists may expect lane and shoulder closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning for guardrail work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Weimar Cross Road: Eastbound motorists may expect a full ramp closure from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday for sign work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from the Long Ravine Railroad Overcrossing to Dutch Flat: Motorists may expect alternating around the clock lane and shoulder closures Monday through Friday for sign, electrical and drainage work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from the Gold Run Rest Area to Secret Town Road/Rollins Lake Road: Westbound motorists may expect intermittent lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday morning for drainage work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Emigrant Gap to Rainbow: Motorists may expect intermittent shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for sign work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Rainbow to the South Yuba River overcrossing: Westbound motorists may expect lane and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday for utility work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at the South Yuba River overcrossing: Eastbound motorists may expect lane and shoulder closures from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Emigrant Gap to Kingvale: Motorists may expect intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday for striping work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at Soda Springs: Motorists may expect shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for sign work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Soda Springs to the Nevada-Sierra county line: Motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday for striping work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at Castle Peak: Motorists may intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for bridge work. 

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at Vista Point: Westbound motorists may expect full ramp closures from 8 a.m. to 12:01 p.m. Thursday for striping work. 

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from the Donner Lake Interchange to Truckee Way (Exit 188A): Motorists may expect intermittent shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for sign work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from the Donner Lake Interchange to Donner Pass Road in Truckee (Exit 184): Westbound motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday for drainage work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at Donner Pass Road in Truckee (Exit 184): Motorists may expect full closures of the I-80 eastbound on and off-ramps from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday for excavation work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from the I-80/State Route 89 separation to Truckee Way (Exit 188A): Eastbound motorists may expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday for drainage cleaning.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at the westbound on-ramp to I-80 from State Route 89: Westbound motorists may expect a full on-ramp and intermittent lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday for striping work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Hinton to Floriston: Eastbound motorists may expect intermittent lane closures from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 2 a.m. to 12:01 p.m. Thursday, 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, and nightly 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Wednesday through Thursday for striping and shoulder work.

State Route 89 (Sierra County) from Sage Hen Road to Little Truckee River: Motorists may expect intermittent one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for miscellaneous work.

State Route 89 (Sierra County) from Upper Little Truckee Campground to Dog Valley Road: Motorists may expect intermittent one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Tuesday for miscellaneous work.

State Route 174 (Placer County) from Main Street to Rollins Lake Road: Motorists may expect one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday for utility work.

State Route 174 (Nevada County) from Lower Colfax Road to Moore Hill Road: Motorists may expect one-way traffic control and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday for core drilling.

State Route 193 (Placer County) at Main Street: Motorists may expect right shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for shoulder work.
