October 1, 2019 – On 9/26/19 at approximately 7:00 a.m., the Yuba County Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (METYU) along with California Fish and Wildlife officials served a search warrant at an illegal cannabis cultivation site in the 15000 block of Vierra Rd in Rackerby.
Located pursuant to the search were 691 marijuana plants being grown out of compliance with state law, an illegal water diversion from a nearby creek used to irrigate the marijuana plants, and spilled fertilizer and chemicals.
The grow site also included trespassing on both private and state wildlife property.
Law enforcement became aware of the grow site after being alerted to it by a hunter that discovered the garden. No suspects were located at the scene at the time of the search.
