According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the case of the missing 16-year-old Kiely Rodni Nieman is now being treated as an abduction. She went missing from the Prosser Family Campground near Truckee on Saturday night.
Kiely is described as:
16 years old
Blonde hair
Hazel eyes
5’7″
118 lbs
Piercings, Tattoo on her ribs: “17”

Details on Kiely’s disappearance: Kiely was at a party of more than 100 juveniles and young adults. She was last seen at the party on August 6th, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m.
Kiely’s vehicle is also missing from the party — a silver 2013 Honda CRV with California license plate: “8YUR127”. Kiely’s phone has been out of service since the party.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for missing 16-year-old Truckee resident, Kiely Rodni. Detectives are currently following up on leads and their Falcon 30 helicopter is assisting the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office with the search for Kiely. PCSO’s air operations crew has been flying over the Interstate 80 corridor between Donner Summit and the Nevada state line, and will continue searching around the Prosser Lake area.
Despite the numerous resources utilized, Kiely and her vehicle are still missing. PCSO are currently coordinating with the California Highway Patrol, Truckee Police, FBI, and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office as they continue the search for Kiely.
A website FindKiely.com has been set up where community members can report on area searches. The site also requests video footage from the area to be reviewed for any lead.
A request to parents of children or attendees of the party asks, “please look at yours or your child’s photos/videos/social media for any background images of Kiely to piece together a useable timeline; who she may have been with, when she may have left.”
