Auburn, CA March 19, 2020 – Chapa-De Indian Health has announced new measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. To address growing concerns about the novel coronavirus, Chapa-De has adopted several new measures to help keep patients and team members safe. These measures are temporary and will last at least until the end of March. All measures are subject to change as the COVID-19 situation develops.

Measures designed to reduce the spread of COVID-19 include:

  • Suspending all non-urgent and non-emergency dental care and optometry visits
  • Suspending all groups and classes
  • Conducting COVID-19 screenings over the phone and at all building entrances
  • Converting visits to phone or telehealth visits when possible for all departments

Chapa-De Indian Health follows strict CDC and OSHA standards for cleanliness and safety. Standard cleaning protocols have been increased and all patients with symptoms or suspected COVID-19 exposure are instructed to wait in their vehicles prior to visits.

In addition to these measures, patients are encouraged to contact their healthcare providers immediately if they are showing symptoms or have been exposed to COVID-19. If symptoms are life threatening call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency department.

Any changes or updates to Chapa-De services will be communicated with patients and the community through direct phone calls, in-person at health centers, and online through social media and blogs.

“Chapa-De Indian Health places the health and safety of patients and team members above all else,” said Lisa Davies, CEO of Chapa-De Indian Health. “We are committed to providing quality, compassionate care now and always.”
