Nevada City, Calif. May 3, 2018 – Cliff Newell, Nevada County District Attorney, announced today that his office has filed criminal charges against Michael Sturgell for the homicide of Pamela Degrio. The complaint alleges a single felony count of murder in violation of Penal Code section 187(a).
Pamela Degrio was found deceased in her home on North Bloomfield Road in Nevada City on February 6, 2018. An autopsy revealed she died from gunshot wounds to her head.
Since that time the District Attorney’s Office has worked closely with the Sheriff’s Department to solve this case. Cliff Newell said “we never stop working to bring to justice someone who commits a violent crime in our community”. He credited the diligent efforts of detectives from the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office for working together on this investigation.
