Miners Foundry Cultural Center in partnership with The BVNKR and Whimiscorp are pleased to announce the return of Comedy Night, Thursday October 27th beginning at 8:00 pm.

It’s been two years since Miners Foundry said, “Yes!” to stand-up comedy in Nevada City. These popular shows began outside in the parking lot in the early days of post pandemic entertainment and have continued on a somewhat monthly basis ever since—though not without some breaks—and not for a lack of material or comics, but for a lack of availability at this very popular community cultural center!

Join The BVNKR co-producers/comedians T. Wade and Micheala King along with Whimiscorp’s Jori Phillips as they welcome standup veteran John Bivens, and new comers Zani Salvatore and Heidi Brown to the stage to share observations about life, the search for love, the nature of gender and so much more in this fall return to Miners Foundry.

The October 27th line includes the talented Jori Phillips. Jori’s fast-paced, happily aggressive, relatable comedy will make you feel at home in an alien world as she works out what it is to be a human being. Quirky, sometimes off the wall and always funny, Jori co-produces and has been a regular at Comedy Night since its inception.

Making her Comedy Night debut, East Bay native and former theater kid, Heidi Brown said she “spent a good amount of time reliving my washed-up Broadway dreams in karaoke bars before trying out The BVNKR comedy open mic last year as a gag, to annoy my comedian husband.” Turns out, she has come comedic talent of her own.

Returning to the stage, local favorite, John Bivens, brings his unique voice to stand up. Described as a “ a bearded, bespectacled, nerdy, mediocre dude who enjoys board games, his cats, and oxford commas,” Bivens reveals humorous insights to the mundane and the ordinary.

Zani Salvatore is a young, up and coming talent with a natural gift for the stage and will be performing at Comedy Night for the first time. His hilarious observations of the ordinary are not to be missed.

T. Wade and Michaela King will be adding their take on the funny throughout the evening. Wade has brought dynamic, un-blushing sharp-witted storytelling to 41 states and 3 countries, while King continues to share her comedic talents in both the North and Southern regions of California.

If there is one thing, we can all agree on, it’s that we can all use a laugh! Head on over to Miners Foundry Thursday evening where a half dozen comedians will do their best to put a smile on your face as each comic brings their own unique flavor to the stage.
