Grass Valley, CA February 11, 2018 – NID Board Candidate Ricki Heck raised nearly $12,000 according to official financial disclosure statements, demonstrating early grassroots support for her campaign to represent Division One on the Nevada Irrigation District Board of Directors.
Heck has generated great enthusiasm with her promise to bring new leadership and improved financial oversight to NID. Division One residents are particularly pleased with her commitment to extend critically needed water lines to help protect area homes from catastrophic wild fires.
“Linda and I have worked closely with Ricki for years and we know she has the business skills and expertise needed to ensure we have a reliable, affordable water supply now and in the future. With Ricki on the NID Board, we can finally extend the range of vital water lines at a reduced cost to homeowners,” said Dr. Roger Hicks, Medical Director and owner of Yubadocs Urgent Care.
Former Superintendent of Schools and district resident Dr. Terry McAteer also commended Heck for her financial acumen. “I am impressed with the attention Ricki pays to district finances and will feel much better about my water supply and wallet once Ricki is elected to the NID Board.”
“I am very proud to have received so many generous financial contributions in support of my candidacy for the NID Board,” said Heck. “Water is our most important natural resource, and I am humbled that so many well-respected community members have expressed confidence in my message.”
The Secretary of State reported Heck raised a total of $11,949.00 from July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017, with 89% of the donations coming from Nevada County residents. The election will be held November 6, 2018.
