December 14, 2020 – The Monday update by the Nevada County Public Health Department added nine deaths to the fatalities reported in Nevada County due to COVID-19. Four of the deceased were connected to a long-term care facility.

105 new positive cases were reported over the weekend. The total positive case number has reached 2,067 since the beginning of the pandemic. 534 active cases at this time, representing over a quarter of all cases.
Active hospitalizations are reported for 20 patients, with 3 in ICU. Currently, 2 ICU beds are available in the two hospitals in Nevada County, according to the state database.
The Greater Sacramento area’s ICU capacity is 14.8% – the regional stay home order will remain in effect until January 1, 2021. The region will then be eligible to exit the order and return to the Blueprint for a Safer Economy only if ICU capacity projections for the following month are above or equal to 15%.
