Nevada City, CA – The Wolf Creek Community Alliance invites community members to the Wild Edges of Wolf Creek event on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at the Madelyn Helling Library. The event begins at 5 p.m.

This unique, interactive exploration of the local watershed will focus on the captivating landscapes and ecology of Grass Valley’s Wolf Creek. The program includes masks and theater, a visual presentation detailing the creek’s history, and a watershed bingo game, allowing attendees to discover their connection to the watershed. Participants will learn about the transformations of Wolf Creek, its rich ecosystems, and the importance of preserving these natural spaces. The event will be held in Madelyn Helling’s main Reading Room, among the Project Wild Edges art installation.

Founded in 2002, the Wolf Creek Community Alliance (WCCA) was formed by concerned citizens committed to protecting this vital resource for the health of its waters, the diverse wildlife it supports, and the community that relies on it.

WCCAโ€™s goals include fostering community stewardship, preserving and restoring Wolf Creekโ€™s integrity, and monitoring its ecological health. The organization is dedicated to increasing public access to the creek through trails and parks, encouraging a deeper connection between the community and this natural resource.

WCCA also aims to thrive as an organization to ensure a lasting impact in the watershed. Through education, conservation initiatives, and community engagement, WCCA works diligently to protect and restore this valued watershed for future generations.
