September 15, 2016 – The Board of Directors for the Penn Valley Community Foundation was pleased to receive a donation of $1,224.25 at their September 7th Board Meeting from Dr. Julie Cox, of Penn Valley, California. Dr. Cox, a Qi Gong instructor trained by Homer Nottingham, raised the funds during her “Qi Gong in the Park” classes she conducted at Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley between November 21 and August 29 for the benefit of the future Penn Valley Cultural Center.

Qi Gong in the Park” and the fundraiser for the Penn Valley Cultural Center continue at Wildwood Fitness in Penn Valley during the winter months. The gym manager, Michelle Walters, has generously allowed use of the space rent-free on Saturdays at 8:30 am.

When the weather warms up, the group will meet at Western Gateway Park again.

Donations are welcome and $5 is suggested. No-one will be turned away for the lack of funds. Everyone is welcome.

The Penn Valley Cultural Center will be located at 10592 Spenceville Road and will include 5,000 square feet to provide space for a possible expanded Penn Valley Library Station, a Visitor’s Center hosted by the Penn Valley Chamber of Commerce, a 500+ seat Performance Hall which will be the new home of InConcert Sierra and the Sierra Master Chorale, the Lake Wildwood Theater and Lake Wildwood Women’s Chorus among others. The venue will also be available to any and all theater, music, and performance groups in the region, house a full commercial kitchen and will be available for weddings and events.
