Nevada City Calif. – Nevada County Elections has assigned Measure P to the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District bond measure and Measure Q to the Nevada City short-term rental measure for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election ballot.
Measure P- Tahoe Truckee Unified School District
The ballot question for Measure P will appear as follows:
To protect quality education in local schools, continue supporting math, science, engineering, technology, arts, and skilled trades/job training programs preparing students for success in college/careers; attracting/retaining highly qualified teachers; and maintaining manageable class sizes, shall Tahoe Truckee Unified School District’s measure be adopted, renewing the expiring
$148 annual school parcel tax with a $40 increase, for nine years, with senior exemptions, annual inflation adjustments, independent oversight/ audits, and all funds (approximately $7,000,000 annually) benefiting local students?
Measure P will require approval of two-thirds of voters voting on the measure to pass. Voters within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District will see Measure P on their ballot.
Because the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District extends into more than one county, Placer County is the lead Elections Office. Arguments for and against Measure P are due to the Placer County Elections Office by Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. Public review of those arguments as well as the Placer County counsel’s impartial analysis is Aug. 8-17.
Measure Q – Nevada City
The ballot question for Measure Q will appear as follows:
Shall the measure that replaces the existing residential short-term rental registration rules with a new permitting system and more detailed permit eligibility and operating rules be adopted?
Measure Q will require a majority vote to pass. Voters in incorporated Nevada City will see Measure Q on their ballot.
Written arguments for and against Measure Q are due to the Nevada County Elections Office by Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. Public review of those arguments as well as the Nevada County counsel’s impartial analysis is Aug. 8-17.
