GRASS VALLEY December 7, 2020 – Caltrans is temporarily closing the eastbound on- and off-ramps to Dorsey Drive along State Routes 20/49 for overcrossing pavement repair beginning at 6 p.m. tonight.

A break in a water line running underneath the asphalt surface of the Dorsey Drive overcrossing caused damage to the roadway and asphalt base in mid-November. Construction crews will be closing access to the Dorsey Drive overcrossing for a 24-hour period with construction activities anticipated to be completed by 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Construction crews will be demolishing the existing asphalt concrete Monday night and laying new road base in preparation for paving work Tuesday morning. The westbound Dorsey Drive on- and off-ramps will remain open to provide access to the hospital and senior care facility. Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work.

Caltrans reminds motorists to โ€œBe Work Zone Alertโ€ and slow down in construction areas for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements. The department will issue construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3.
