GRASS VALLEY, Calif. January 30, 2017 – On 1-29-17 at approximately 8:05 pm, 23-year old Grass Valley resident Deno Howard Mann was driving a 2008 Mazda southbound Bennett Road in an unincorporated area of Nevada County. Approximately 1/2 mile north of Brunswick Road, due to his level of intoxication, Mann made an unsafe turning movement and the Mazda collided with a tree. The right front passenger sustained major head trauma as a result of the collision and was flown by air ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
The right rear passenger sustained moderate head trauma as a result of the collision and was taken by ground ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
Mann was arrested for Driving Under the Influence Causing Injury, Sections 23153 a&b of the California Vehicle Code. Mann was transported by CHP to Sie1rn Nevada Memorial Hospital and treated for minor facial injmies. After medical clearance, Mann was transported and booked by CHP at the Nevada County Jail.
