January 14, 2019 – The National Weather Service is predicting RAINY weather here in the foothills this week with up to 7 inches of rain and winds predicted.

In an effort to collaborate over one of our most vulnerable populations, the Salvation Army and the County of Nevada have activated their Extreme Weather Shelter Protocol for homeless families in an effort to temporarily shelter and plan to open the following shelter from for families 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (January 15th and 16th) at:

Grass Valley Area:

NOTE: This facility is Limited to 25 people maximum and for Homeless Families Only.

City of Nevada City:

Sierra Roots WILL NOT be opened on these dates for single adults. However, Sierra Roots stands ready to assist homeless citizens through their normal access points or by calling them at (530) 751-3263.
