March 1, 2019 – The National Weather Service is predicting about 5 inches of rain in the foothills this next Tuesday and Wednesday (March 5thand 6th).
In an effort to collaborate over one of our most vulnerable populations, the City of Nevada City, Sierra Roots, and the County of Nevada initiated their Extreme Weather Shelter Protocol for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, March 5th through the morning of March 7th. This is an effort to continue to temporarily shelter homeless residents in our community during extreme weather. Hours of operation are 4:30 p.m. through 7:30 a.m. the next morning.
Salvation Army will not be opening in Grass Valley on those nights, but will be monitoring the changing weather conditions.
