Music in the Mountains will present their annual Gala on Saturday, October 22nd, beginning at 5:30pm, taking place inside the beautifully renovated Center for the Arts in Grass Valley. The fundraiser will include a four-course meal, with drinks and appetizers, a live and silent auction with the opportunity to win amazing prizes, and a dance party to follow with local favorite, DJ Jamal Walker.

Music in the Mountains’ Halloween Masquerade Ball

This year’s theme is “A Halloween Masquerade Ball” and the invitation notes that “Costumes and Blacktie are Optional,” but patrons are encouraged to enjoy the evening in whatever fashion or costume suits them best.

“We are looking forward to welcoming the community to an enchanting evening with fine dining, music, and dancing,” remarks MIM Operations Manager, Kevin Ross. “This is going to be a great live event with some wonderful costumes.“ He adds, “Mostly importantly, it’s going to be great fun for a great cause.” The proceeds from the evening’s festivities go to benefit Music in the Mountains programs, including their Youth Orchestra and other Children’s Music Education programs.”

The event is being sponsored by a number of generous local businesses and people including Foothill Flowers, Szabo Winery, South Fork Vodka, and many more. The “Paddle Raise” sponsorship is brought to guests by Smarterbroadband. “We are more than happy to be a sponsor of Music In the Mountains,” exclaims Kathy Talso of Smarterbroadband. “Throughout the year, we have loved meeting the musicians face to face and participating in so many amazing concerts and shows! My Business Partner Jim and I along with our SmarterBroadband guests are having a great time planning our Halloween Masquerade outfits. As you get older you tend to lose sight of the fun you can have at an event like this, well not this year!” Kathy adds, “We do hope we are not the only table dressed up, but if so, we will be having the most fun!. Looking forward to helping MIM raise more funds for the coming season.”

The venue will be decorated with glittering lights and a generous donation of pumpkins from Riverhall farm.  Pam Hodges, Artistic Director of the UpStart Theatre Company, and professional set and graphics designer, will be transforming the Center for the Arts into a wonderful fall extravaganza with her beautiful decor and artistic design. Pam notes, “Our approach to decorations and artistic presentation is designed to delight patrons and immediately transport them to the spirit of autumn and Halloween as they enjoy a beautiful evening for a wonderful cause.”

Following dinner there will be a live auction and short presentation. Professional auctioneer Greg Quiroga from Stellar Fundraising Auctions will be helping patrons’ part with their money for wonderful prizes and a very worthy cause. Quiroga has been instrumental in helping raise money for the arts and other organizations throughout Northern California.

A limited number of tickets and tables for MIM’s Gala are still available for sale. All proceeds will benefit MIM programming and the expanded education programs planned for youth. For more information go to http://www.musicinthemountains.org.
