MARYSVILLE, Calif. (Aug. 7, 2025) – A contractor working on behalf of Yuba Water Agency was tragically killed today near the New Colgate Powerhouse in Dobbins.
The victim died following an accident while operating construction equipment that fell down an embankment near the New Colgate Powerhouse.
“We are just devastated and still processing what exactly happened,” said Willie Whittlesey, general manager of Yuba Water. “Our hearts are with the family, friends and coworkers who are suffering through unimaginable loss, and with our own staff who supported the accident response today.”
No other details about the accident or victim are available at this time. Yuba Water Agency is supporting the investigation and is committed to transparency throughout this process.
