July 22, 2019 – Animal Place’s Vegan Burger Battle will be held throughout August 2019 at participating restaurants in Nevada County, CA. Chefs will create delicious, mouth-watering burgers that are planet-friendly and plant-based in support of local animal sanctuary, Animal Place. There are 11 contestant burgers at 8 locations, all in Nevada County.
The objective for the Vegan Burger Battle is to foster a sense of community between Nevada County diners, restaurants, and local animal sanctuary Animal Place, all while encouraging as many omnivores as possible to try a delicious meal that happens to be plant-based and provide a taste-sensation and positive memorable experience.
The chefs are excited and very competitive! A wide range of creative flavors will be presented including a Sabzi Burger, a Mexican inspired burger, and many more. Several chefs are designing a creation from scratch and others are using one of the new, extremely popular “meat replacement” patties, including Beyond Burger and Impossible Burger. The burger designs (and ingredients) will be posted on animalplace.org by July 31.
