NEVADA CITY, Calif. December 9, 2020 – Free reusable cloth face masks designed to protect individuals from the coronavirus will be handed out from 9:30a.m. to 11:00am on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Dave’s Auto Repair at 747 Zion St. in Nevada City. The event is a joint effort with the Rotary Club of Nevada City and Nevada County Masks for COVID-19: Mask Warriors Unite.
Community members will be asked to stay in their cars and drive through the parking lot. The Rotary team will wear masks and gloves and maintain safe social distancing. Masks will be prepackaged and handed out until the supply runs out. If the Greater Sacramento Region moves into a Regional Stay Home order related to ICU capacity, the event will be postponed to a later date.
This event is a repeat of the very-popular Free COVID Mask Give Away events the groups hosted during the summer and with the Nevada County Flu Clinic. The Mask Warriors volunteer their time and expertise to make reusable cloth masks. Materials are from the sewers’ personal supply or purchased with donations from the community, which are encouraged.
