On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, the community is invited to join Foothills Compassionate Care for a free learning opportunity hosted in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer’s Outreach Program of Western Nevada County. This lunchtime conversation will engage the community in a talk about brain health, healthy aging, and the power of healthy lifestyle choices. This event is free and open to the public.
The event will explore practical ways to support cognitive wellness through physical activity, nutrition, social connection, health monitoring, and self-care. Foothills Compassionate Care is partnering with community experts Judy Kautz and Linda Aeschliman of the Alzheimer’s Outreach Program with the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation.
This special presentation will highlight findings from the groundbreaking U.S. POINTER study, a landmark 2-year clinical trial by the Alzheimer’s Association. The study highlighted that structured exercise, diet, cognitive stimulation, and heart health management can significantly protect cognitive function and slow brain aging in older adults at risk for cognitive decline.
