On February 1, 2022, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) was contacted by the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office regarding a victim reporting possible sexual abuse that occurred in Nevada County. The victim is a minor and lived in El Dorado County. Arrangements were made for a Detective from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and a Deputy District
Attorney from the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office to meet with the victim in El Dorado County.
On the afternoon of February 2, 2022, the NCSO learned that Benjamin Brown, 34, Grass Valley, was the suspect of the alleged sexual abuse which occurred on numerous occasions in Nevada County. Through extensive interviews and review of other evidence, Benjamin Brown was arrested for charges related to several counts of sexual abuse of a minor.
Brown was arrested and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for 288(A) x4 counts and 288(B)(1)pc. He later posted bail and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
