On July 22nd, the Grass Valley/Nevada City Fire Department deployed one of our California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) fire engines to the Mill Incident. This deployment was part of an immediate need Strike Team alongside other Cal OES resources from various counties.

The team assembled in Rocklin just before midnight, consisting of 5 Cal OES Engines and a Strike Team Leader. Our mission was to provide structure defense in the Whitehawk Community. Crews remain assigned to the incident.
We take pride in supporting Cal OES and collaborating with allied agencies across the state whenever our assistance is required.
Despite our deployment, all Grass Valley/Nevada City Fire Stations remain fully staffed and committed to serving our community.
