October 27, 2016 – Grass Valley Police officers are investigating the shooting of a man at a store off McKnight Way Wednesday night, but for protection of investigative leads, we can only release the following information.
Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a residence on Banner Lava Cap Road regarding a man who had sustained a single gunshot wound.
Officers learned that the victim had been assaulted and shot in the 100 block of McKnight Way. He then drove to the residence on Banner Lava Cap Road, where he knew the residents and asked for assistance.
The residents tended to him and contacted law enforcement and medical personnel.
The man, who is not being identified, was transported to a trauma center in Sacramento, where he is undergoing treatment for his wound.
The Grass Valley/Nevada City Joint Investigation Unit, with assistance from Nevada County District Attorney investigators, are conducting the investigation of the incident.
