The growing congregation’s inaugural service in the new building will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 7. The Rev. Kevin Tarsa will officiate.

All ages are welcome, and special activities will be provided for children and teens. The service will be followed by catered hors d’oeuvres and homemade desserts.

“Everyone is invited to help us celebrate,” said Carol Richey, president of the congregation. “So many people are looking for what we offer—community, inclusion, mutual support, and a commitment to justice. We welcome people from all spiritual backgrounds, including those who are atheists or agnostics.”

Member Viv Tipton found what she was looking for at UUCM. “I was looking for a place where integrity and dignity are valued. My very first time here I felt connected. I feel safe here. I feel included. I am among like-minded people who believe in the dignity of all human beings.”

The Squirrel Creek campus includes convenient parking, a large sanctuary, generous meeting spaces, and acres of outdoor space.

The new campus will allow the congregation to gradually expand its already long list of activities, including some with a spiritual bent and others focused on socializing, justice, music, writing, and crafting.

The congregation also plans to share its new space. “The Squirrel Creek campus will allow us to offer space and support to local organizations that share our values,” said member George Dunstan.
