Grass Valley, CA — You’ll soon have the best opportunity of the year to find native plants for your garden. The local Redbud Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) will be holding their biggest plant sale of the year on Saturday, October 5.

As with Redbud’s plant sales for the last several years, the sale will take place online, with pickup in Grass Valley on Sunday, October 13. This sale will offer more home-grown local natives than ever before, thanks to Redbud’s growing group of dedicated home propagators and nursery monitors. Together, they have raised hundreds of native plants this year. The sale will also offer plants from wholesale native plant nurseries.

Want to plan ahead? Check Redbud’s plant-sale page (https://chapters.cnps.org/redbud/plant-sale/) a week before the sale for a list of plants that will be for sale. Offerings will include native trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, and groundcovers.

This year Redbud will be offering hardy local natives such as showy milkweed (Asclepias speciosa), Western redbud (Cercis occidentalis), alumroot (Heuchera micrantha), deer grass (Muhlenbergia rigens), scarlet monkeyflower (Erythranthe cardinalis), and many, many more. The sale also features commercially grown California native plants, including manzanita, California fuchsia, and cultivars well suited to home gardens in town.
