Oct. 24, 2021, NEVADA CITY, Calif. – Tahoe National Forest visitors and road users are being asked to exercise extreme caution while driving due to hazardous road conditions caused by significant rainfall in the region.
Increased precipitation can lead to localized flooding, downed trees, mudslides, rockslides, debris flow and hazardous driving conditions.
Obstacles may appear rapidly and without warning, both in roadways and adjacent drainages, resulting in impassable roads or severely limited access.
We ask that all forest users check local conditions and forecasts prior to traveling throughout the forest, whether on forest roads or on county and state roads located within the boundary of the Tahoe NF.
