September 15, 2016 at 8:24 AM UPDATE A structure fire was reported at 2:58 and all units responded to the given location, upon the arrival of Engine 5482, it was reported a two-story wood frame residential occupancy, with heavy smoke and fire showing, and 50%-75% involvement on Cross Street between Sacramento Street and South Pine Street in Nevada City.
With two alarms being started, the fire took approximately 30-45 minutes to knock down and an additional 2 hours to extinguish. There was extension to neighboring garage, and extension to one vehicle. All occupants were reported out of the building.
The building and vehicle were a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Nevada City Fire Department.

NEVADA CITY, Calif. September 15, 2016 – At about 2:57 am this morning a call was received by the Emergency Command Center for a residential structure fire in the area of Sacramento Street in Nevada City. The first units arrived on scene and reported a two-story residence was 50% involved.
PG&E was requested to the scene to secure utilities. The fire was knocked down at 3:39 am, units remained on scene for extensive mop up operations. No injuries to occupants or firefighters were reported.
Fire units on scene include Nevada County Consolidated Fire, Nevada City, Grass Valley, Ophir Hill, and CALFIRE.
