PLACER COUNTY – Caltrans is alerting motorists of lane closures scheduled Friday on Interstate 80 (I-80) as part of the ongoing $146.8 million Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project to finish moving k-rail barriers and for striping operations.
Lanes are scheduled to be closed in both directions of I-80 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, December 20 between Gold Run and Drum Forebay. Most of the work is anticipated to impact traffic along eastbound I-80. This work will allow for completion of the final winterization of the project before the next storm is expected to arrive this weekend.
The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety. For more information on this project visit Caltrans District 3 Current Projects. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
