March 8, 2021 – In a continued effort to improve Nevada County Veterans Services Office provides services, they are creating a strategic plan that will help drive your Nevada County Veterans Services Office outreach programs’ focus. All Nevada County’s active-duty military members and veterans’ input is needed by participating in a survey to develop the most robust plan possible. The information provided will be used to create our outreach strategy and to reach and serve veterans in the most effective ways possible.

“I started my position as the Nevada County Veterans Services Officer in September of 2018. When I sat in that empty office on that first day, I swore to myself that I would always advocate for the veterans in this community, bring my best self, and offer the best possible services,” said David West, Veteran Services Officer. “As I have grown in my role over the past two-and-a-half years, this community has embraced me, and I have seen just how vital the services that we offer are to our veterans.”

The information collected from this Survey will be shared with our local Veterans Service Organizations such as the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veterans of America, and others.  Together, these organizations plan to use this information to build a collaborative and coordinated approach to serving veterans to ensure that no veteran in Nevada County slips through the cracks.

This will be an annual survey that will measure the effectiveness of our efforts and the satisfaction of our customers.
