AUBURN, CA – On October 1, BriarPatch is kicking off National Fire Prevention Month with a wildfire preparedness class featuring experts from UCANR Fire Network and Placer Resource Conservation District.

The first half of the class will provide solutions and resources for protecting your home, landscaping and community from wildfires. The second half will discuss why prescribed burning is an important tool for managing our landscape and how interested locals can get involved.
This educational event is free and open to the public. Whether you’re a homeowner, renter or curious community member, all are welcome!
The event is from 5-6:15 p.m. at our Auburn store, 2505 Bell Road.

“Wildfires affect all of us, but with the right knowledge and tools, we can protect our homes, our landscapes and our community,” said Community Engagement Coordinator Katee Gustavson. “This class is a great chance to learn from experts and get involved in keeping our neighborhoods safe.”
Snacks and refreshments provided.
This class is free, but we do ask that you register in advance as space is limited. Learn more and register at briarpatch.coop/event/wildfire-management-at-home
