Penn Valley has always been home to me.
I was born and raised here, attended Ready Springs Elementary School for my entire elementary education, and graduated from Ready Springs in 2001. The classrooms, teachers, families, and community that shaped me growing up are the same community I am proud to serve today. That lifelong connection to Penn Valley is a large part of why I have decided to run for the school board.
I am not running because of a personal or political agenda. I am running because I care deeply about this community, the quality of education our children receive, and the future of the schools that have meant so much to generations of Penn Valley familiesโincluding my own.
For more than 20 years, I have dedicated myself to public service through the Penn Valley Fire Protection District, where I currently serve as a Battalion Chief. That career has taught me the importance of leadership, accountability, teamwork, responsible decision-making, and, above all, service to the community. It has also taught me that good leadership begins with listening.
If elected, I will bring that same approach to the school board.
Our schools should provide every student with a safe, supportive environment and a strong education that prepares them for whatever path they choose in life. Our teachers and staff deserve the support and resources they need to do their jobs effectively, and parents deserve to know their voices are being heard.
At the same time, a school board has a responsibility to be a careful steward of public resources. Decisions involving taxpayer dollars should be thoughtful, transparent, and made with the long-term interests of our students and community in mind. I believe strongly in fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability, and I will bring those principles with me to every decision before the board.
Most importantly, I want to be accessible to the people I represent. I will listen to parents, teachers, staff, students, and community membersโeven when we may not agree. Good governance does not require everyone to have the same opinion; it requires people who are willing to listen, ask questions, work together, and make decisions based on what is best for our schools.
Penn Valley isn’t simply where I live. It is where I grew up. Ready Springs is not simply a school in the district to meโit is part of my own story. I was fortunate to grow up and receive my education in this community, and I would be honored to have the opportunity to give back to it in another way.
I am asking for your trust, your support, and your vote. If elected, I will work hard to represent our entire community with integrity, common sense, transparency, and the same commitment to public service that has guided me throughout my career.
I look forward to talking with you, listening to your concerns and ideas, and earning your support.
