NEVADA CITY, Calif. April 14, 2017 – The Cannabis Crusades has hosted some legends over the past four years, but Friday’s guest is in a league by himself. Forrest Hurd, who has taken over hosting duties of the award-winning show, interviews the man who started it all, Rick Simpson.

Rick who? some may ask. Even if you are unfamiliar with him now, one day Simpson will be a household name for teaching people how to make effective cancer treatments in the privacy of their own homes.

Simpson is credited for “inventing” an extraction method to fully concentrate cannabis oil for therapeutic purposes that he used successfully to treat his own basal cell carcinoma. Since then, he has treated over 5,000 patients free of charge until the Canadian government forced him into exile.

Full concentrate is known worldwide as Rick Simpson oil or RSO. (Some – including Simpson – call it Phoenix Tears because it has a similar appearance to the translucent dark stone.)

Simpson wasn’t thrilled that his name was attached to the oil that made him famous. Jack Herer is credited with naming the oil in his honor and it quickly spread throughout the cannabis community.

Hurd will interview Simpson on KVMR (89.5fm), Friday from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Tune in to learn how Simpson made his remarkable discovery, how the Canadian government reacted to his discovery, and what he thinks about the movement to legalize cannabis.
