July 3, 2018 – Fire units responded for a reported residential structure fire on Holcomb Dr. in Grass Valley at 3:45 am. The first engine at scene found a single story structure fully involved with slight extension into the wildland. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the vegetation and were on scene with mop up of the structure approximately four hours.

The home was a total loss. There was no one home at the time of the fire and no injuries reported.

Fire crews from Nevada County Consolidated, Grass Valley City, Higgins, Ophir Hill and Cal-Fire responded.

The fire cause is under investigation.

Engines 1,88,89-Tender 84, Prevention 1 and 4, Battalion 1 were assisted by Higgins, Cal-Fire,Ophir Hill. All units were released at 7:56 am.
