August 21, 2017 – The League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County is proud to present Snopes.com Managing Editor Brooke Binkowski as she takes the stage with Randall Finkelstein, Nevada County Scooper, for an informative discussion about fake news in America.

As it becomes increasingly difficult to sift news from propaganda, Binkowski and Finkelstein discuss the manner in which the American public has been manipulated into believing that which masquerades as news. They will offer insight into how we arrived at where we are today, whether there is value in satire, and how one can distinguish fact from fiction.

Join us on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 7:00pm at the Sierra College Multi-Purpose Room for this entertaining and informative discussion. Parking is $3.00 per vehicle. Parking passes must be purchased at the kiosk upon entering the Nevada County Campus. If able, we ask for a suggested $5.00 donation at the door to help defray the expense of hosting this event.
