NEVADA COUNTY, CA – The “Pink Patch Project” is here! For the month of October, local law enforcement and fire agencies are proudly wearing pink patches in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in addition to selling agency-specific pink patches, 2026 community-designed breast cancer challenge coins, and specialty merchandise to support local breast cancer research and services at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation in Grass Valley and Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation in Truckee. This year’s nine collaborating agencies are comprised of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada County Consolidated Fire District, Nevada County Probation, Grass Valley Police Department, Grass Valley Fire Department, Nevada City Police Department, Truckee Police Department and newly joined this year: Penn Valley Fire Protection District and Truckee Fire Protection District.
The nine partner agencies are offering several Pink Patch events throughout the month, giving community members an opportunity to meet and mingle with local law enforcement and fire, while supporting a good cause.
