GRASS VALLEY, Calif. August 4, 2016 – Lolo Gervais plans a triple CD release party and video debut complete with cocktails, cake, prizes and musical tomfoolery on Friday, August 26 at The Center for the Arts.

Stirring up a mix of classic modern pop and rock tunes into a tight neo-vintage party soundtrack Lolo Gervais takes tunes of one style and recreates them into roaring 20’s, swinging 30’s, New Orleans funky boogaloo, swanky 50’s & 60’s, classic early Motown and beyond.

In addition to their triple CD release, Gervais is excited to debut a new music video. Produced in partnership with the City of Grass Valley to promote the arts community, the video features the band along with a cast of locals and bon vivants in historic downtown locations.
Grass Valley City Manager Bob Richardson produced the project with assistance from photographer Kim Sayre.  Richardson has a background in film production and is responsible for the “Basecamp – Grass Valley” series and website.
Gervais says, “We’re inviting everyone to come be a part of this debut and to see themselves and their friends in a real old fashioned music video on the big screen.” Lolo Gervais had its beginning in 2015 after Lorraine Gervais & Jacob Aginsky realized they both loved taking modern tunes and antiquing them into a vintage jazzy 20’s thru 60’s vibe.

Describing the bands music Gervais says, “Think Michael Jackson meets Louis Armstrong, the Clash as a jazzed up sing-along groove, Daft Punk, Sting and Paula Abdul running headlong into a funky old school swing. Or maybe classic disco as soulful gospel, Pharrel Williams, Train and Huey Lewis getting all dressed up with a touch of old school Jackson 5 or African Highlife grooves laid over the top.”

Gervais and Aginsky are kindred musical spirits who’ve separately worked alongside Zap Mama, Mavis Staples, Pink, Chris Isaak, Etta James, Taj Mahal, Charlie Hunter & Pete Escovedo.  With Jacob’s arranging skills, new becomes old and yet new again.

The band is excited to release 3 new CD’s this summer following dates at night clubs and performing arts venues from San Francisco out to Colorado.

Jacob Aginsky – Keys
